CSSC Names China’s Second Large Cruise Ship

Updated: October 30, 2024

Adora Flora City was the name bestowed upon China’s second domestically produced large cruise ship in Guangzhou, Guangdong province on October 25.

According to operator Adora Cruises Limited, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), the name draws inspiration from Guangzhou’s reputation as the “Flower City” and is intended to reflect the vibrancy and beauty that the ship will embody.

The vessel is currently in the accelerated stage of interior assembly and is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026, with regular international routes planned from its home port in Guangzhou.

In comparison with the first China-made cruise ship, Adora Magic City, Adora Flora City is longer and bigger, with 2,130 cabins capable of accommodating 5,232 guests at full capacity. It features expansive public spaces designed to enhance onboard experience beyond that of its predecessor.

The vessel will integrate interior designs and artwork inspired by the Maritime Silk Road and Lingnan culture, with a floral theme throughout, creating vibrant and imaginative spaces. It will integrate entertainment, relaxation, social activities and coffee culture, enabling guests to immerse in a relaxed and pleasant cruise experience, according to the company.

Upon delivery, the Adora Flora City will offer a technologically advanced, lifestyle-oriented and culturally rich maritime experience for guests from home and abroad.

Currently, Adora Cruises operates two large cruise ships – Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranean – which have served more than 380,000 domestic and international guests.

Moving forward, Adora Cruises plans to expand its offerings with a combination of long, medium and short cruise routes covering more destinations, catering to travelers in the Greater Bay Area, and continuously enriching cruise experiences with diverse itineraries.
