Ren Hongbin Attends Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreements between CNOOC and International Partners in Celebration of CNOOC's 40th Anniversary

On Feb 15, 2022, Ren Hongbin, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), attended the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and its international partners in the celebration of CNOOC's 40th anniversary.

Ren extended warm congratulations to CNOOC on its 40th anniversary, affirming its remarkable achievements in reform and development and expressing hope that the company will continue to contribute to the country's energy sector. 

Ren said that CNOOC should thoroughly implement the "Four Revolutions and One Cooperation" (namely energy consumption revolution, energy supply revolution, energy technology revolution, and energy system revolution, and strengthening international cooperation in all aspects to ensure energy security under open conditions) new strategy on national energy security, make every effort to increase reserves and production, earnestly beef up efforts to make scientific and technological breakthroughs, further press ahead with green and low-carbon transition, and accelerate the establishment of a world-class energy company.

CNOOC should also adhere to open development, focus on the fields of exploration and development, technological research and development, and industrial upgrading, prioritize high-quality Belt and Road construction, continue to expand the breadth and depth of international cooperation, and continuously improve the quality of international cooperation, Ren said.

In addition, Ren urged CNOOC to work hard, effectively strengthen the Party's leadership and Party building, and give full play to the political advantages of state-owned enterprises. By vigorously promoting the "Oil Industry Spirit" that emphasizes hard work, honesty and strictness of work, CNOOC should strive to write a new chapter on the new journey, and take practical actions to welcome the opening of the Party's 20th National Congress.
