China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. (China Eastern) will play a crucial role in the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) that will open on Nov 5 in Shanghai.
As a core supporting enterprise, appointed air carrier, purchaser and service provider of this year's CIIE, China Eastern will contribute to air transport, contract signing, venue service and logistics support for the event.
China Eastern is one of the three state-owned aviation transport service providers in China and the world's seventh-largest airline. It is also the largest airline headquartered in Shanghai.
During the 4th CIIE, the company plans to add 110 flights from Shanghai to Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan and Haikou. Larger aircraft will also be used for some flights to increase passenger capacity.

The company has started inspecting equipment and establishing pandemic prevention and control methods.
It has also joined hands with the Hongqiao International Airport and Tongren Hospital to offer nucleic acid testing services for passengers.
To provide high-quality service to passengers during the CIIE, China Eastern has established a special team at the Hongqiao and Pudong international airports and will set up CIIE-dedicated check-in counters at which passengers can obtain check-in, transfer, enquiry and ticket services.
In terms of on-board services, the company will provide CIIE-themed catering for passengers on flights between Shanghai and Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chongqing.
Logistics support is a key part of China Eastern's service for the 4th CIIE. Eastern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. (EAL) has participated in all CIIE events since it was first launched and has helped transport various exhibited materials, including precise instruments.
For this year's CIIE, EAL transported the Mission H24 hydrogen racecar to China in September and a first batch of fruit from France that landed in Shanghai on Oct 28. By Oct 28, the company had transported 45 sets of exhibits.
During CIIE, EAL will open green passages, special service windows and staging areas for exhibits.
