The first production line of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) in Russia, the largest of its kind in the country, started operations on June 9.
Located in the town of Svobodny, Amur Region, the plant will be the starting point of the China-Russia East natural gas pipeline, the second large-scale energy corridor between the two countries.
Upon completion, the plant is expected to handle 42 billion cubic meters of virgin gas annually and transfer 38 billion cubic meters to China.
China Gezhouba Group Mechanical & Electrical Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group), is responsible for the construction of six natural gas liquid and nitrogen rejection units, three nitrogen rejection facilities and supporting systems.
