China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited (China Baowu) has become the world's largest steelmaker with a crude steel production of 115 million tons, according to the "World Steel in Figures 2021" publication released by the World Steel Association on June 4.
The report intends to show the overall development of the steel and iron industry through indices like steel and iron output, apparent volume of consumption, global trade volume, and iron ore output.
This year's statistics indicate that the global crude steel output in 2020 was nearly 1.88 billion tons, and that Chinese output accounted for half of this.
