The first phase of the loop grid project in East Cambodia, contracted by China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd (Sinomach), has gone into operation following the opening of the last 230-kilovolt power line and transformer substation.
The project, with a construction period of 36 months, included the construction of two transformer substations and 275 kilometers of power transmission lines.
A major part of Cambodia's state grid, the project is expected to improve the regional power supply network and enhance power transmission capacity and the grid stability, which will help guarantee power supply for livelihoods, industrial development and commercial trade.
