Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., both subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), delivered CMA CGM Concorde, a 23,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship, on April 27.
The ship is 399.9-meter long and 61.3-meter wide. It has 24,000 square meters of deck area, equaling 3.5 standard football pitches.
The vessel uses liquefied natural gas (LNG) as its main power and traditional diesel as supporting power, the world's first to feature such power system. The system is expected to contribute to environmental protection and help reach the goal of peaking carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.
It was the seventh of the nine 23,000 TEU dual-fuel container ships that CMA CGM has ordered from CSSC since Sept 23, 2020.
