The Yinfeng Hydrogen Station of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group), the first hydrogen station in South China's Hainan Province, opened for service on April 16.
Located in Boao, Qionghai, the station, equipped with hydrogen discharging, pressurization and hydrogen and nitrogen refueling systems, is capable of supplying 500 kilograms daily and played a role in energy supply for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2021.
The station will contribute to building Hainan into an energy island and boosting development of the new energy industry.
Sinopec Group is now stepping up efforts to build hydrogen stations in Yangpu, Sanya and Haikou, and aims to construct more than 10 hydrogen stations in the region during China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
The company is now in full steam to promote energy transformation by increasing investment in the hydrogen industry.
Construction of Hainan's first hydrogen refueling facility, led by Sinopec Group, was completed this March; it is capable of producing hydrogen as pure as 99.999 percent.
