Updated: 2021-04-28

An event to review development of China's communication network and demonstrate future smart cities was held at the Shanghai Telecom Museum on April 17.

It was intended to help people learn about China Telecommunications Corporation (China Telecom)'s efforts to build Digital China and safeguard cyber security.

At the event, storytellers from Beijing, Shanghai, Ruijin in East China's Jiangxi Province and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Central China's Hunan Province shared stories of the growth in China's communication industry and China Telecom's efforts in poverty alleviation based on the 5G Tianyi cloud conference system.

A pioneer and main force of building China into an internet power, China Telecom has been in full swing in letting people feel a sense of gain, happiness and security based on cyber development and construction of Digital China.

It is one of the first and largest cloud service providers in China and the country's largest IDC infrastructure service provider.

Owing to its nationwide data centers and Tianyi cloud resource layout, the company is capable of offering safe and reliable cloud service for data storage, calculating and processing, which creates a high-quality remote video experience for users.

It built the ultra high-speed 5G network at the Huoshenshan Hospital, a makeshift hospital in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province, to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic within three days in 2020.

Cloud supervision on the construction was also developed based on China Telecom's cloud-network convergence technology.

In addition, the company contributed to resumption of production in the post-pandemic era while implementing its own cloud and digital transformation and upgrading, improving technological innovation capacity, deepening reform and realizing a stable growth in business performance.

2021 is the first year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. China Telecom aims to evolve into a service-oriented, technological and safe enterprise that adheres to cloud and digital transformation to contribute to building national internet power and Digital China.
