State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid) launched a new energy cloud platform on April 20 to support China's goal to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and become carbon neutrality by 2060, and help build the new energy-centered power system.
The platform includes 15 sub-systems related to the environment, resource distribution and grid service.
It is an online carrier of some former offline new energy business, a result of the digitalization of new energy management.
So far, more than 2 million new energy terminals with an installed capacity of 459 million kilowatts are connected to the platform which has over 250,000 registrations.
More than 10,000 enterprises have signed to join in the system, which secures employment for over 1.2 million people.
According to State Grid, the platform can provide all-process professional service from planning and construction to grid connection and manufacturing, which is expected to boost scientific planning, reasonable development, highly efficient construction and safe operation while ensuring sufficient energy for consumption.
Next, State Grid plans to focus on building other platforms for optimal allocation, the industrial internet, carbon neutrality supporting service and innovation of power systems.
