The No. 1 and No. 2 generator units at the Zarchob-1 hydropower plant (HPP) project in Uzbekistan have been connected to the power grid.
Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) was responsible for providing the plant with sets of electromechanical equipment and relevant technical services.
Located on the lower reaches of the Tupalang River's Tupalang reservoir in Sariasia District, the plant and load-center unit substation project included the design of all electromechanical systems at the plants and substations, equipment supply and installation, as well as adjustments and operation guides.
It's worth mentioning that the project's transnational load-center unit substation was designed with features of substations of both China and Uzbekistan, and connects the power grids of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
A result of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, the project was signed at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation by the leaders of the two countries in May 2017.
