World's Largest Trona Project Passes Inspection

World's largest trona project contracted by China Tianchen Engineering Corporation, a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Ltd., recently received the final acceptance certificate issued by its owner in Turkey.

With a designed annual output of 2.5 million tons of trona and 200,000 tons of baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, the project's production capability is expected to make up one-third of the market in North America once operational.

Valued about $1.1 billion, it is the most valuable project built by a Chinese enterprise in Turkey at that time.
