China XD Group Co., Ltd. (China XD Group) recently won the bidding of China’s first offshore mobile floating power generation ship.
The project, Wison 240MW gas turbine combined cycle for the 230kV (115kV) geographic Information System (GIS) equipment, includes construction of a floating liquefied natural gas regasification unit (FSRU) and a 240MW combined cycle natural gas power generation barge.
China XD Group will be responsible for design, production and installation of the 230kV (115kV) GIS equipment that is connected to the gas turbine generator and steam turbine generator, and dispose of the online monitoring system.
The offshore floating power generation project can turn the submarine natural gas into power with such advantages as higher construction efficiency, a shorter production cycle and smaller coverage compared to traditional offshore power generation projects.
Offshore floating power generation is now a promising industry as China is increasing investment in new energy fields.
