The Satellite Industrial Park at the Wuhan National Aerospace Industrial Base in Central China's Hubei Province is ready for trial operation and is expected to produce 100 satellites annually, according to Ma Jie, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress.
Ma said that construction of the six individual buildings of the park and adjustment of the 18 sub-systems and 103 sets of equipment was completed by the end of 2020.
Construction of the industrial park was undertaken by a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited and was started in April 2019.
With a total investment of nearly 1.34 billion yuan ($204.96 million), the main part of the park is a smart satellite production line based on digital twin and cloud technologies.
Relying on the park, the company intends to attract enterprises along the industrial chain to provide supporting services and offer fully-automatic assembly, integration and testing services to the whole industry.
In addition, the company plans to build the park into an education base for aerospace and science and technology knowledge.
An offline launch ceremony will be held to announce operation of the park soon, Ma added.
