The hydrogen station at the Taizicheng Service Area of the Yangqing-Chongli highway linking Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province had refueled 470 vehicles with 4,958.94 kilograms of hydrogen fuel by Feb 19, 2021.
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)'s first hydrogen station, the station will also be the first of its kind to serve the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
It will provide hydrogen fuel to vehicles in core areas of the event and will be a window to the world on a green Winter Olympics and Zhangjiakou's image as a hydrogen city.
Put into operation on Feb 7, 2021, the station was designed and constructed within 10 months.
With a daily refueling capacity of 1,000 kilograms, it is expected to refuel thousands of vehicles during the sports event.
According to CNPC the Chongli North Oil-hydrogen Station, the company's second hydrogen station, is scheduled to open for service by the end of this June.
