CNCEC to Help Development of Indonesia's Steel, Iron Market

Updated: 2021-02-25

The No. 2 blast furnace of the Dexin steel and iron project with an annual output of 3.5 million tons recently went into operation in Indonesia.

The steel structure of the blast furnace's hot-blast stove weighs about 2,800 tons and is 41.83 meters high.

Located in Central Sulawesi, the project is one of the greatest blast furnace iron making systems in Indonesia.

It was contracted by China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Ltd and has the most investment and the largest construction scale of overseas metallurgy projects contracted by any Chinese enterprise

When it is in full operation, more than 10,000 jobs are expected to be created along the industrial chain. The facility will boost replacement of non-standard steel and contribute to the country's steel and iron market.
