CNNC's Annual Power Generation Touches New High in 2020

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) generated nearly 153.98 billion kWh of power in 2020 with a year-on-year growth of 12.55 percent, a new high in its history.

Nearly 148.34 billion kWh were generated by nuclear power, 8.9 percent more than that in 2019, and 5.64 billion kWh were produced by new energy, a year-on-year growth of 860.98 percent.

In 2020, the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant in East China's Zhejiang Province showed stable and safe performance.

The amount of power transmitted from the plant to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces as well as Shanghai was the highest in history, which contributed to resumption of work and advances in China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).

The Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant in East China's Jiangsu Province, with five generator units in operation, produced nearly 35.21 billion kWh of power in 2020, its highest level of annual power generation since it went into service.

What's more, the Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang and Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant in Southeast China's Fujian Province generated more than 18.91 billion kWh and nearly 32.36 billion kWh of power respectively through the year.

Both plants also had outstanding performance in maintenance of generator units.

The Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant in South China's Hainan Province played a crucial role in powering construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
