The Tarim Oilfield of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in Northwest Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has produced more than 30 million tons of oil equivalent in 2020.
The output is consistent with the oilfield's role in improving China's oil and gas blueprint, optimizing national energy consumption structure and guaranteeing national energy security.
Over 31 years since the oilfield was first developed it has produced 140 million tons of oil, 330.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 403 million tons of oil equivalent, an outstanding demonstration of speed and efficiency in the industry.
CNPC has also made breakthroughs in ultra-deep oil and gas exploitation at the oilfield.
The company plans to improve annual output to 40 million tons of oil equivalent in 2025.
