The China International Import Expo, also known as CIIE, is the world's first import-themed national-level expo, and a pioneering event in the history of global trade. The decision to hold the CIIE was made in the pursuit of a new round of high-level opening-up, and is China's major initiative to widen market access to the rest of the world.

The CIIE demonstrates China's steadfast determination to advance high-level opening-up. It is an international platform for supporting economic globalization and a vehicle to promote high-quality economic development to satisfy people's needs for a better life. It is of great significance to propelling global trade, promoting investment, fostering cultural exchanges and advancing opening-up and cooperation. The ongoing third CIIE, which will run through Nov 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), is designed to trade goods and services, exchange culture and ideas, and benefit the whole world.

The Chinese government sincerely welcomes heads of states and governments, business communities, exhibitors and professional buyers across the world to participate in the third CIIE. China will continue to open the door to provide countries with more opportunities for common development.
