The third China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, is expected to contribute to global economic development by stabilizing foreign trade and investment and industrial and supply chains.
Improved brand effect
Some experts say that the brand effect of the CIIE is improving which will attract more foreign enterprises to participate in the third CIIE. The scale of the third CIIE will also exceed the previous ones.
This year's CIIE is designed with larger exhibition areas, better arrangements and higher quality of exhibitors, according to Gao Feng, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce.
He explained that the event will have six exhibition areas covering the fields of food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment, medicine and health care, and the service trade.
The first exhibit arrived at the venue on Oct 23. Construction of its booth and arrangement of its items for display will be completed around Nov 2.
Preferential policies
Multiple preferential policies have been released to buoy up the event. For example, CIIE exhibitors will enjoy more exemptions in customs duties, value-added taxes and consumption taxes, according to Wang Bingnan, vice-minister of commerce.
Other measures on customs clearance facilitation and strengthening of epidemic prevention and control are also being taken to guarantee the success of the third CIIE, Gao mentioned.
Promoting global economic recovery
The event will stabilize industrial and supply chains and promote global economic growth.
A platform to show China's firm stand on promoting economic globalization and building a community of shared future for mankind, the event will provide global economic development more opportunities from China by boosting upgrading of trade, industries and consumption.
