One hundred and fourteen groups of exhibits for the upcoming third China International Import Expo (CIIE), with a customs value of $7.51 million, had completed customs clearance procedures and been transported to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) by Oct 20.
The exhibits cover a wide range of categories including a large-scale numerical control machine tool, home decorations, cosmetics, washing supplies and crystal wine sets.
According to the Shanghai Customs District, it will continue to provide high-quality services while strengthening epidemic prevention and control at the port.
A customs branch was specially set up at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) to serve the event and 43 CIIE-dedicated green passages and 79 customs service windows were also open at main ports in Shanghai for customs clearance procedures like application, checking, sampling and detection of inbound goods.
A smart security check system is being used in electronic health application and inbound checked-in baggage is examined in advance to improve efficiency of customs clearance.
Paperless customs clearance was also promoted this year, which improves efficiency and lowers costs.
