China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy) highly values safety in energy supply and in its preparations for the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) that is to open on Nov 5 in Shanghai.
Responsible for safe and stable energy supply in the Yangtze River Delta region, China Energy's subsidiaries in that area, including GD Power Development Co., Ltd., as well as its subsidiaries in East China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and its coal business branches will participate in this year's CIIE energy supply work.
China Energy in Jiangsu has set up a special power guarantee group and launched a campaign to optimize power generation by upgrading generator units so they are sure to give their best performance and guarantee high-quality power supply during the CIIE.
Its Zhejiang subsidiary has made plans to examine contractor's tools, safety protection equipment and file packages, strengthen regular monitoring and inspection of devices, keep operation of generator units sound and stable by adjusting parameters and strictly control safety risks.
GD Power Development Co., Ltd.'s wind power companies in Ningbo and Zhoushan, Zhejiang, are also playing a role in CIIE preparation and power supply.
They have improved the equipment monitoring level and eliminated shortcomings and put a focus on optimizing performances of such production facilities as wind blowers, main transformer substations, box-type substations, switch cabinets, rechargeable batteries and oil depots.
Meanwhile, hidden dangers of cable interlaying, fire-fighting equipment and drainage ditches have been eliminated and management of major hazard sources like oil and sulfur hexafluoride has been strengthened.
Epidemic prevention and control and food security are also key focuses of the two companies.
As for China Energy's branch for coal business, it appointed employees to record daily consumption and coal storage to ensure quick emergency response. It also allocated ports to improve loading efficiency.
So far, the company has supplied 1.1 million tons of coal to Shanghai in October, laying a solid foundation for energy supply to the CIIE.
