Ren Hongbin, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), spoke with Dame Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China on the phone on April 20, 2020.
Ren said that China-UK relations remain in a "Golden Era", and more and more Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have invested in the UK. People of the two countries have shown great care and support to each other in the fight against COVID-19.
Ren emphasized that SASAC is willing to strengthen exchanges with all parties from the UK side and will continue to support the joint efforts and cooperation of central SOEs and British companies in fighting against the epidemic, fostering new cooperative fields and growth points, and contributing to global public health and world economic development.
Woodward said that Chinese central SOEs such as China National Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Sinopharm) and China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. had exported important medical products to the UK, making significant contribution to UK's fight against the epidemic. She appreciated that and welcomed more central SOEs to invest and operate in the UK to deepen cooperation and strengthen exchanges.
