Hao Peng briefly introduced the main responsibilities of SASAC and the achievements made in the reform and development of SOEs, saying that in the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, China has adhered to the basic economic system, the direction of socialist market-oriented reform, the emancipation and development of productive forces, the stimulation of economic vitality, the supervision and prevention of the loss of state-owned assets, as well as the Party's leadership over SOEs and the reform of SOEs.

At present, Chinese central SOEs are establishing and perfecting their modern enterprise system, continuously pushing forward the establishment of market-oriented management mechanism, promoting the mixed ownership reform and the supply-side structural reform. The vitality, controlling force and influence of the enterprises have obviously been enhanced, Hao noted.

While continuously improving the core competitiveness and achieving high-quality development, Chinese central SOEs are deeply involved in the international exchange and cooperation, he said.

Israel is an important node among the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, Hao said, adding that a number of Chinese central SOEs are contributing to local economic and social development with investment and cooperation projects, giving full play to their complementary advantages, realizing win-win results, and laying a solid foundation for closer cooperation.

There is huge potential for cooperation between Chinese and Israeli enterprises. SASAC supports and encourages Chinese central SOEs to invest and develop businesses in Israel, according to Hao. He said that  SASAC also welcomes Israeli enterprises to strengthen cooperation with Chinese central SOEs, steadily promoting cooperation in major projects and technical fields, and striving to achieve shared growth through consultation and collaboration, so as to bring more tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

Zvi Heifetz, Israeli Ambassador to China appreciated the great progress made by China in the reform and opening-up over the past 40 years and spoke highly of the fruitful achievements of the cooperation between Chinese and Israeli companies.

He hopes to set up a communication mechanism and further strengthen exchange with SASAC, so as to serve as a bridge for enterprises in the two countries.

Meanwhile, he welcomed more Chinese SOEs to invest in Israel and work with Israeli enterprises to participate in the Belt and Road construction, adding that the Israeli government will offer good services to Chinese enterprises.
